Don’t miss the next drama club meeting on Thursday the 18th in room 70 right after school. See Mr. Crawford or an officer for info!

Join Spanish Club this Thursday as we play the Latino version of Shrimp Games! Will you survive? Come to room 214 Thursday after school and find out. All are welcome!

Ski Club – check your remind for the link to order you ski club shirt. We need your size and color. If you want to upgrade to a crew sweatshirt – you can do that for $4.50 and a hoodie will cost you and extra $5.50. Cash and orders are due to Mrs. Traucht this FRIDAY so we can get the order in before Holiday break!

The general meeting for KEY CLUB is Monday, Nov. 22. after school in room 202. We will. be planning a gingerbread house project, we will be making cards for Nationwide Children’s hospital and taking orders for Key Club t-shirts. Please pay attention to the Davidson Instagram posts and our Canvas announcements!

Chess club will be meeting this Thursday, November 18th, after school in room 222.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

The sport of hockey originated with the Saux, Foxes, and Assiniboine people, who were among the Native American tribes who played a game called “shinny,” where a ball was hit down a field (and in the winter, over ice) using a curved stick.11/18- According to the National Congress of American Indians, “The Navajo Nation reservation would comprise the 42nd largest state in the U.S., and is larger than the following 10 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia. An additional 19 tribal nations are each larger than the state of Rhode Island, while 12 tribal nations are each larger than the state of Delaware.

This Friday, the Life Skills Classroom will be selling Brownies in the commons during lunch periods. Brownies are 50 cents each.

Good morning Juniors and Seniors! The ASVAB Career Exploration Tool will be Monday, November 22 at 7:30am in the Media Center. This optional opportunity is open to juniors and seniors, and is completely free. This is an awesome opportunity for students interested in college, the military, a technical school or you just aren’t sure yet. Sign up ASAP in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Mongolier. See your counselor or Mr. Grantier with any questions!

Congratulations to this year’s winners of the American Legion and Legion Auxiliary Americanism and Government Test: freshmen Joanna Bryan and Elias Rosa, sophomores Kirra Heck and Adrian Toland, juniors Laura Dupaix and Jason Heineman, and seniors Grace Burns and Benjamin Bartels. Thanks to all students who participated!

A recent supply chain shortage has, unfortunately, forced us to temporarily switch back to styrofoam trays for use during lunch. Compostable trays will return to the lunchroom when supply becomes available, but until then, please continue to stack your trays on the appointed tables at lunch to save space within our trash cans. Thank you.

An ROTC recruiter from Capital University will be here today at 11:30 in the commons.  Stop by if you want information.

SPORTS:

This Friday at 7pm, our Davidson basketball programs will be kicking off the start of their seasons with their annual Wildcat Madness event. This will be a fun meet the teams event for all levels. There will be fun activities and giveaways throughout the evening, and we will cap the night showcasing our varsity teams. We hope to see everyone there Friday at 7pm. To get into the event we are asking that everyone bring at least 1 canned food item. GO CATS!

If you are interested in being a wrestling stat and helping out Coach Wilson, please join us for a meeting on Thursday, November, 18th at 4:30 pm right outside the wrestling room. The meeting will last about 15-20 minutes. Can’t wait to get started, Go Cats!
