FRESHMEN! Do you want to be a leader at Davidson? Be a part of planning school-wide events like Homecoming and Prom? If so, apply to be a member of Davidson’s Student Council this year! The application is now available on your Class of 2025 Canvas page under the Clubs module. Applications and teacher recommendations are due by Friday, October 1st. The first American Sign Language Club meeting will be held after school on Monday, October 11, 2021 in room 202. All are welcome! We will be learning fall and Halloween signs. Please come join us and have some fun!
Do you enjoy discussing local, national, and global issues? If so, then the Davidson Speech and Debate Club is for you! This week we will be discussing whether assisted suicide should be legalized nationally, so join us after school Tuesday in room 202 to join the debate!
It’s time once again to join the student leadership group, E Pluribus Unum, Out of Many, One. Consider the power, impact, and beauty that your voice can make to create a more perfect union here at school and beyond our walls. Your voice really does matter! Hard copies of the invitation letter and permission slip are available online by clicking THIS LINK . (These documents are also available in hard copy form in the Main Office.) Permission slips are due by next Friday, Oct 1. Email your permission slip to Ms. Monseur Durr OR bring the hardcopy to the Main Office and put it in Ms. M-D’s mailbox.
Student Council is hosting a movie night this Wednesday, September 29th at Davidson’s stadium. Based on your votes, we will be showing Jumanji! Doors open at 7:30 and the movie starts at 8. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door- cash only! Bring a blanket and some friends to watch Jumanji on the turf!
Mario José Molina-Pasquel Henríquez is a chemist who studied in Mexico and Germany before coming to the United States to study the effects of man-made compounds on the ozone layer. Mario Molina won a Nobel Prize in 1995 for his crucial work in understanding how the ozone layer is formed and depleted.
Are you feeling lost about what you want to do in the future? Would you like to be part of a group where you talk about and plan for life after high school? If so, please see Mr. Rodriguez or Mrs. Polley in the School Counseling Office.
If you are looking for a job, here are a few that are available. Up first is Tommy’s Pizza on Dublin Granville Rd., Part time line cooks and servers for day and night shifts. Line cooks start at $13/hr plus tips. Second, join the pack at the Columbus Zoo Boo at the Zoo and Wildlights, evening and weekend shift available. Pay starts at $11 to $13/hour. Carrabba’s Italian Grill is hiring at the Mill Run location and will work around your busy schedule and hours are flexible. Finally, Planes Moving and Storage is looking for help. They provide regular work hours, competitive pay – $16/hr and the opportunity for growth. They would like to provide an opportunity for students to prepare for college by helping you become financially stable. Information is posted on the job board outside of the Guidance Office.
Intramurals is hosting Ultimate Frisbee on Sundays from 5-6:30. If you’d like to join, go to your class canvas page and join the HDV Intramurals canvas course for details. Please make sure to submit covid and emergency medical forms before the first meeting.
