CLUBS:

The first American Sign Language Club meeting will be held after school on Monday, October 11, 2021 in room 202. All are welcome! We will be learning fall and Halloween signs. Please come join us and have some fun!

Model UN club will have its first meeting after school on Friday October 8th in room 203. Any questions? See Mr. Emery

Join Art Club after school on Thursday in Room 161. We will be creating sketchbooks and pen drawings for Inktober!

Do you enjoy discussing local, national, and global issues? If so, then the Davidson Speech and Debate Club is for you! This week our topic is, “Should all recreational drugs be legalized for adults above the age of 18?” Join us after school Tuesday in room 202 to join the debate!

The Black Student Alliance will have its first meeting today after school in room 260.

Mrs. Vanderhule will be helping facilitate a weekly after school book club about mental health this fall. This club is part of an OSU study conducted by Alyssa Chrisman on what teens think about mental health and its representation in YA literature. Any Davidson student can participate. If you are interested, please join us for our weekly Tuesday meeting after school at 2:40 pm in room 254! Books and snacks will be provided!

Key Club would like to recognize Mental Illness Awareness Week! If you are a Key Club member and want to get volunteer hours, sign up to walk at Polaris this Saturday, Oct. 9 to show your support for Mental Wellness. Sign up for the walk is available at our @DavidsonKeyClub on Instagram as well as on our Google Classroom page.
Tomorrow is a day of international prayer for mental illness recovery and understanding. Please support this cause!

Help Key Club and STAR HOUSE (a homeless shelter for youth 14-24 years old) by donating socks for our SOCKTOBER collection. Drop your socks donation off in the main office box with your name, club you want your hours to go towards and your Hilliard Student ID.

Michelle Lynn Lujan Grisham is an American lawyer and politician.  She was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2011, serving three terms in Washington on behalf of New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District.  Since 2019, she has been serving as the 32nd governor of New Mexico.  She is the first Democratic Latina to be elected governor in U.S. history.

Congrats to the wildcat marching band for a successful double header competition weekend, performing at Licking Valley and Watkins Memorial invitationals. They received second place overall at both shows and tied for best music at the Licking Valley show. You’re Off to a great start wildcats, and good luck in your remaining competitions.
