CLUBS:

For students who want to sign up for games and the dance off at the pep rally, there is a link on the student council Twitter and a QR code in the main office. There will be prizes for all participants and the winners of the dance off will get free tickets to homecoming!

Ski and Board Club- forms are available in 212 and 203. Local Level sign up link goes live on Friday at 6 am. Both Mad River and Holiday Valley / Snowshoe trips will be paid for on Local Level this year.

What? A Pancake breakfast! Where? Room 112 When? Friday at 6:45 Why? Cause the Davidson Faith Club wants to encourage you to come!

Debate Club will be meeting in room 219 after school TODAY. The first debate of the year will concern US involvement in the Hong Kong protests. We hope to see you there!

Are you interested in hearing more about careers in the medical fields? Join us on Thursday October 3rd in room 202 at 2:45 for a brief informational meeting about Future Medical Career Club. Questions, see Mrs. Lucas or Mrs. Bloom!

The Davidson Cultural Awareness Club is having its first meeting TODAY after school starting at 2:45pm. We will discussing our activities for the year and how to make our Culture Day event the best you have seen yet! Bring a friend!

Key Club is having our first general meeting this upcoming Monday (September 30th) right after school in room 202! We hope to see you all there!!!”

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Hope Squad Thursday thoughts: “Fitting in” is becoming you THINK you need to be in order to be accepted. “Belonging” is being your authentic self and knowing that no matter what happens, YOU belong to YOU.

Picture retake day is October 1st. If you missed picture day or would like your picture re-taken, October 1st is the last day to get it done. If you are having your picture re-taken, you must bring your picture package with you that day.

Do you ever feel out of the loop? Do you want to stay informed on school issues, events, and local news? Buy a subscription to The Wildcat, Davidson’s school magazine. Subscriptions are only 5 dollars. Look for posters around the school to sign up. Individual copies are also for sale in the school store for 2 dollars cash. Hope Squad day four: Today there will be a school wide scavenger hunt in order to spread awareness for suicide prevention. Throughout the school, there will be inspirational quotes posted with the Hope Squad logo. If you find one of these signs, please go to the front office to pick up your prize! Tomorrow is Wear Yellow Day. Also, if you are interested in spending your lunch tomorrow relaxing in the College Conference Room in our temporary Therapeutic Getaway Room, please contact your counselor or Mrs. Clausen to get your name on the list, as spaces are limited!

Attention Seniors: Jostens will be here Friday, September 27th during lunch periods to collect senior graduation orders including cap & gown and announcement packages… Please remember to bring in your completed order form as well as your payment.  Any senior who orders a Jostens class ring or Wildcat package will receive your cap & gown unit FREE!  Call 1-800-JOSTENS with questions.

Attention students who plan on bringing a guest to homecoming. If your guest is NOT a Davidson student, you and your guest are REQUIRED to complete a guest approval form. A copy of the form was shared through Canvas and is also available for pick up in the main office. Forms are due to the main office no later than Thursday, October 3rd. NO GUEST FORM = NO ENTRY.

This is the last week to sign up for the October 16th administration of the PSAT! This test is highly recommended for college bound sophomores and all juniors. Every junior at Davidson High School will be taking the SAT this spring and the PSAT is an excellent way to prepare for that test. The $23 exam fee can be paid via My Payments Plus or cash or check can be brought to Ms. Williams in the Registrar’s Office. Monday, September 30th is the final day to register for this test. Do not wait – register today! See Mr. Anderson with any questions.

The payment period for AP exam registration is now open! In order to register for an AP exam, two actions must take place: You must ensure that your myap.collegeboard.org account indicates that “yes”, you are taking the exam, and you must pay the $94 exam fee per exam via My Payments Plus or by bringing in a check to Ms. Williams in the Registrar’s office. The payment period will last until November 1, but please register and pay as soon as possible! See Mr. Anderson with any questions.

Hey Davidson- need somewhere to decompress during your day? Hope Squad will be hosting a lunchtime therapy lounge in the College Conference Room on Friday during all three lunches filled with coloring, puzzles, comfortable seating, calming music, and other destressors. Sign up for one of 25 spots per lunch at the Hope Squad table today or tomorrow and come harness your chi with us on Friday!

Make a difference here at Davidson. What do you want your legacy to be? You are invited to join our Resilient E Pluribus Unum group meeting once a month on Tuesdays for our pursuit of topics related to identity, diversity, social justice and advocacy. This is not a club, as we meet during the school day. Pick up a permission slip in the main office and return it with your parent/guardian and your signature!

SPORTS:
