Today’s Hispanic Heritage Month trivia is that in 1968, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson first proclaimed the Hispanic Heritage Week as sponsored by Congress. It was expanded to a month in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan. The Hispanic Heritage Month was enacted into law on August 17, 1988.

College visits are up and ready for you to sign up. You can sign up in your Naviance account and all visits will be virtual for this school year. This is who has signed up for the month of September – Ohio University, Kent State, Youngstown, The University of Findlay, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and Bowling Green. Additions happen on a daily basis. Make sure to log into Naviance to schedule your virtual visit and to see daily updates. Stop by Guidance if you have any questions.

Attention all students! Mark your calendars for our Movie in the Park event at Huntington Park on Sunday, October 4th. Doors will open at 6:00PM. Tickets are $10 and they will go on sale next week beginning with Seniors on Monday, Juniors on Tuesday, Sophomores on Wednesday and Freshman on Thursday. Get your tickets before they are all gone as this event is only open to 1,000 guests.
