Good Morning, Hilliard Davidson!  Today is Thursday, November 14, 2019, and these are your morning announcements.

CLUBS:

Attention Freshman, Juniors, and Seniors taking Spanish, more spots have opened on the Peru Trip during Spring Break 2021. Please look for an email from your Spanish teacher with the enrollment link. If you are passionate about service learning, culture, and adventure, this is the trip for you! Hurry, don’t miss out!

Auditions for this year’s junior-senior play – The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time will take place right after school on Wednesday, Nov 20. For more information or to pick up audition scenes and forms, see Mr. Crawford in room 70.

Today debate club will be going head to head over whether the prison system should focus on punishing prisoners or on rehabilitating them. Meet in room 219 right after school for the debate.

GSA meeting today after school until 3:15 in room 254. See Ms. Vanderhule with any questions.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention juniors and seniors: Do you know what the ASVAB is? Need help choosing a career? This career exploration tool uses your interests and skills to look at careers and contains 400+ occupations sorted by interest codes so you can identify the occupations that match your own interests. A few weeks later after your individual results come there will be a meeting so your results can be reviewed with you. The ASVAB will be offered on Tuesday, November 19th, and the sign-up sheet is in the Guidance Office.

Attention anyone that auditioned for Variety Show: an email has been sent out to all those who have auditioned with the results. Thank you for all the wonderful talent shared!

SPORTS:

Attention any girl interested in participating in Track and Field and not involved in a school sanctioned winter sport! Conditioning begins on December 3 @ 2:40 in the WR. See coach Beatty in rm 204 with any questions or concerns. If you are not on the remind please see Coach Beatty. Let’s goooooo!

Attention girls interested in playing softball. There will be a mandatory 10 minute meeting on Thursday, Nov. 21st to discuss pre-season training in room 209 immediately after school. If you plan to play softball this spring and you are not in a winter sport you are expected to attend this meeting. If you have questions, see Coach Speakman in 209.

All you can eat pancakes Saturday morning in the Commons from 9-10:30. There will be sausage and drinks as well. You can buy tickets for $8 a head of time from a girls lacrosse player or pay $10 at the door. Hope to see you there.

Any baseball player not participating in a winter sport, there will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, Nov 19 at 3 pm in the Weaver Middle School cafeteria with Coach Swallie.
