CLUBS:

Art Club will be meeting after school today in Room 161. We will be printing our club t-shirts, so please bring a light colored shirt if you’d like to make one!

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention students! Would you like to learn more about over 200 colleges nationwide by speaking directly with admissions representatives about their programs and campuses? Seniors- would you like to meet with financial aid specialists to help you understand FAFSA and your college financial award letters? If so, you need to attend the NACAC National College Fair at the Columbus Convention Center on Sunday, February 9th from 1-4 p.m. Register at gotomyncf.com.

Are you struggling with addiction and want to quit? Do you have a friend or family member struggling with addiction? Have you lost someone you love to addiction? If you would like to talk to someone about these concerns, we have a new Syntero Counselor that could help you. Please let your School Counselor know if you would like to be referred to her.

All EL students will be taking the last section of the OELPA test tomorrow afternoon. Please make sure you have charged iPads when you get to the Media Center.

February is Digital Wellness Month! Week 1 focuses on Wellness and finding a balance between digital and face-to-face interactions. Did you know 1 and 4 teens say social media has a “mostly negative” impact on their lives? And 41% of teenagers feel overwhelmed by the quantity of notifications they receive on a daily basis. If you feel that way try turning off your notifications for social media or turn on Screentime to help find your balance.

According to Common Sense Media 50% of teens feel addicted to their mobile devices.How much time do you spend on your devices. Does it affect your relationships with others or distract you from getting work done? Try being a creator of digital content and not just a consumer or stop checking your phone 30 minutes before bed to help balance screentime in a way that feels positive and healthy.

SPORTS:

Any girl interested in playing soccer next fall should come to our informational meeting on February 18th at 6:30pm in the Commons! Go Cats!

Attention girls interested in trying out for softball this spring. There will be a mandatory tryout meeting today after school in room 209. You must attend this meeting if you plan to tryout. If you have a question, see Coach Speakman in room 209.

Wildcat Baseball Players: Monday, February 10th there will be a mandatory meeting for boys interested in trying out for baseball. We will meet on Court 3 in the fieldhouse at 2:50 to discuss dates and times for tryouts. If you cannot attend, contact Coach Swallie. Go Cats!
