MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Monday, October 26, 2020

Good Morning, Hilliard Davidson!  Today is Monday, October 26, 2020, and these are your morning announcements.

CATS Quote for today:  “When we create peace and harmony and balance in our minds, we will find it in our lives.”

Happy Birthday Today to:  Sage Brumfield, Hannah Sadler & Devarshi Upadhyay

The first ASL Club will be held after school on Wednesday, October 28 for group A and Tuesday, November 10 for group B in room 202. Whether you are currently in ASL class, have a deaf friend or family member, or just want to start learning ASL, all are welcome to attend!

Hope Week day two is tomorrow and we HOPE to see you participate! The theme for Tuesday is Peace, Love, and Kindness Day and we encourage you to wear anything tie dyed. We will also have a Be the I in Kind banner hung in the Commons during lunches where we would love to have you take a photo of yourself as the I, post on your social media, and tag Hope Squad on Instagram at @hopesquadhd and/or Twitter at @HDVHopeSquad.

Attention all AP students: The deadline to pay for AP exams is Friday, October 30th. Late fees will be assessed if you miss the deadline. Rosters will be posted in the Commons on Monday, October 26 for you to check – if your name is not on the roster under each exam you plan to take, then you still need to pay for your exam. Please see Mr. Anderson with any questions.

Attention Seniors! Just a quick reminder that the deadline for submission of The Voice of Democracy scholarship competition, which provides you the opportunity to write and then video record an essay on a patriotic theme (“Is this the country the founders envisioned? is the 2020-2021 theme), is fast approaching. The deadline for submission to the post is October 31st. Entries can be mailed or dropped off at the local post located at 2436 Walcutt Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43228. See Naviance for more details.

Please stay tuned to the announcements for bowling tryout dates.

For any boys, grades 9-12, interested in trying out for basketball this year, tryouts will begin October 30th. Please reach out to Coach Congrove for more specifics about tryout times, Final Forms, and what to bring on day one. You can reach Coach Congrove via email or in-person in room #31 down the athletic hallway.
