CLUBS:

Help Key Club and STAR HOUSE (a homeless shelter for youth 14-24 years old) by donating socks for our SOCKTOBER collection. Drop your socks donation off in the main office box with your name, club you want your hours to go towards and your Hilliard Student ID.

The Hilliard Schools eSports & Gaming Club will take place every Thursday, starting October 21st, from 3-6 pm at Game Arena on Fishinger Blvd. Admission to Game Arena is free for members during club hours, and students can play any games not rated “Mature”. Food and drinks are also available for purchase at the concession counter. All Hilliard high school students are welcome! Email eric_howard@hboe.org with questions!

The first meeting of the year for Future Medical Career Club will be on Tuesday October 26th right after school until 3:30pm in room 232. Our first speaker will be an EMT/Paramedic who has also been a flight medic. Any questions, please see Mrs. Lucas

Ski Club will have an optional parent meeting on Wednesday, Oct 20 at 7 pm at Darby HS. Please join our Remind group- text HDVSKI to 81010. Sign ups will begin on Oct. 25th.

Spanish club will hold its next meeting on Thursday, after school in room 214. Join us as we play some games to celebrate the Day of the Dead. All are welcome!

Want to send your friends some candy with a spooky message this Halloween? Renaissance will be selling Halloween Grams this Monday through Wednesday at all lunch periods for a dollar. The grams will be distributed October 29 during third period.

The next Interact meeting of the year will be on Tuesday October 19th! Join us in room 239 at 2:45. If you still have not paid dues or registered, you can bring your $5 to the meeting!

Do you enjoy discussing local, national, and global issues? If so, then the Davidson Speech and Debate Club is for you! Our topic for this Tuesday is: Should the death penalty be legal? Join us after school Tuesday in room 202 to join the debate!

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

Cultural and ethnic diversity in the United States continues to grow at unprecedented rates.  Hispanics/LatinXs are approximately 19% of the total US population, however it is projected that by the year 2060 Hispanics/LatinXs will make up 30% of the U.S. population.

Another huge Congratulations to the Wildcat Marching Band for a great performance at the Piqua Band Festival this past Saturday. They were second place in their performance class and overall runners up for the entire showcase. Well done and good luck next weekend at the Tri-Valley Band Festival.

SPORTS:

The Davidson girl’s basketball staff is excited about the upcoming season. All girls interested in playing basketball are required to attend tryouts. Tryouts will be held on Friday, October 22nd from 3:00-5:00, Saturday, October 23rd from 10:00am-12:30pm, and Sunday, October 24th from 1:00pm- 4:00pm. Attention any girl, grade 9-12, interested in playing basketball that is not currently involved in a fall sport – the girls basketball program will be holding open gym each Sunday at Davidson from 7-8:30 pm through October 17.
