Do you enjoy discussing local, national, and global issues? If so, then the Davidson Speech and Debate Club is for you! Our topic for Tuesday October 12th is, “Should the U.S. government invest more in climate change recovery?” Join us after school Tuesday in room 202 to join the debate!

Join the Muslim Student Association after school today in room 202. The general meeting will start at 2:45.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Husband-and-wife team Emilio and Gloria Estefan started their rise to global fame in 1985 with Miami Sound Machine, creating a unique sound that blended Latin and pop rhythms.  In 2019, the Estefan’s were the recipients of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The honorees represent two firsts for the prize – they are the first recipients of Hispanic descent and the first married couple to receive the award.

Any students interested in the military, we are hosting a “military information” event on Tuesday, October 12 at Davidson at 6:30pm. Each branch of the military will be present and there will be a “college fair” style event after the presentation so students/parents can ask questions and pick up information.

Attention Juniors! If you signed up for the PSAT on October 13th, you should have received a Canvas Message with testing details and your testing location from Mr. Assenheimer. If you think you are registered and did not receive a message, please contact Mr. Assenheimer ASAP.

Seniors: Don’t forget to place your Senior Select votes! Voting closes this Wednesday, October 13th. There is a link to vote on Davidson’s website as well as on the Senior Canvas page.

Listen up juniors and seniors. We have a lot of colleges here this week. You can sign up in Naviance for a pass. Tomorrow we have Miami University, Capital and Findlay. Wednesday, Kansas City Art and Design, Xavier, Bowling Green and Whitman College will be visiting. We will finish on Thursday with Otterbein and Mount St. Joe’s.
