GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

Black History Month fact of the day: Juneteenth is an annual holiday observing the end of slavery in the United States and marks the day- June 19, 1865- when news of emancipation reached people in the deepest parts of the former Confederacy in Galveston, Texas. On this day, Major General Gordon Granger, along with more than 1,800 federal troops, arrived to take control of the state, nearly two months after the end of the Civil War, confirming the freedom of the last remaining slaves in the deepest parts of the South.

Auditions for this year’s Spring Musical – Freaky Friday – will take place on Tuesday, March 2 after school. Audition information, sign-ups, and more can be found at hilliarddavidsontheatre.com. See Mr. Crawford or Mr. Crowther for more information.
