Good Morning, Hilliard Davidson!  Today is Monday, December 6, 2021, and these are your morning announcements.

CLUBS:

The next Key Club meeting is today after school in room 202. Please remember to follow us in our Canvas Page, and on Instagram to see opportunities for volunteering!  We had a great time making cards for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and doing a local cleanup. On December 5th we will be helping students make gingerbread houses– Join us by signing up online!

Student Council is selling holiday-themed Davidson crewnecks at lunch. Shirts are limited, so bring $20 CASH to purchase yours as soon as possible!

Interested in a treat that is sweet but twisted? Renaissance will be selling candy canes during all lunch periods starting Monday, December 6 through Friday, December 10. There will be different varieties of candy canes for 50 cents each, or 3 for 1 dollar. Come buy some for you, your friends, or teachers and help support your fellow Wildcats!

Don’t miss the next drama club meeting on Tuesday after school in room 70. See Mr. Crawford with any questions!

Chess club will be meeting after school this Tuesday and Thursday in room 222.

Attention ALL Wildcats! The MSA will hold a meeting to discuss our school’s participation in ‘mist’ Columbus. Whether it’s basketball, soccer, poetry, fashion design or improv; ‘mist’ has a category for you to compete. Anyone interested can join us today in room 202 at 2:45 for more information or see Ms. Elnaji.

Do you want to play a popular Chinese game called “Mahjong” that involves the use of tiles in a game of strategy, memory and skill? Please come to Chinese Club after school at Room 210 this Friday (December, 10) to play and have fun with your friends!

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

Attention sophomores and juniors! If you are an independent, curious, outstanding student and have a strong interest in research and a career related to zoos, animals, or science, then explore the very unique program that meets daily at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. For more information about zoo school through the Delaware Area Career Center or to get the application information, see Mrs. Polley in the School Counseling Office.

Auditions for both of the Davidson Theatre winter productions will take place on Thursday at 2:35. The Freshman-Sophomore production is Murder on the Orient Express and the Junior-Senior production is Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. Information about both can be picked up in room 70. See Mr. Crawford with any questions!

Seniors: There is a scholarship available from Dot’s Tots Foundation. Please see Naviance for the application and details. This scholarship is specifically to provide support to families providing foster care, children with debilitating disease, injury, and/or illness, and students in their higher educational pursuits. Deadline to apply is 12/28/21.

A group of students won top honors for a film that premiered in the Taiwan Cinema Sports Film festival last weekend. Please congratulate Van Johnson, Jay Perko, Ren Vo, and Ella Farabaugh if you see them in class.

Attention students: tomorrow is Culture Day. Hope Squad invites you to dress up in traditional clothing from your culture and participate in trivia throughout the day surrounding the various cultures of students in our community.

The boys basketball team wanted to send a huge shoutout to everyone that made it out to the Orange game Friday to support the program. It was an awesome environment to play in and definitely had an impact on the outcome of the game! Thank you all!

This week, the boys basketball team travels to Linden McKinley on Wednesday and to Bradley on Friday. Go CATS!
