Attention Junior Parents – Class of 2025
Per Ohio state law, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce will be paying for one administration of a college readiness examination to all juniors.  For this school year, Hilliard City Schools has chosen the SAT for our students.  On March 6th, all juniors (according to their grade in Home Access) will be taking the SAT test at their home building.  This date was pre-assigned by the state and SAT.  Students will report to school as normal, and the district will mimic the administration procedures typically enforced at a national, Saturday administration of the SAT.  Below is additional information that will be helpful on both test day and leading up to test day.  Please contact your building counselor’s office for additional questions or clarification.

Students will NOT need to register individually; we will register students at the district level directly with SAT.

  •  All SAT test security measures will be in place for this state assessment.  Students should be prepared NOT to bring their cell phones into the testing location, and should have proper identification with them. (Current school ID, driver’s license, state ID, etc.)
  • Students who are found to be in violation of the “No Cell Phone” rule may have their phone confiscated, and face additional discipline consequences, including possible suspension.
  • Students will do the pre-administration portion of the test PRIOR to test day.  A portion of the pre-administration will allow students to choose up to four colleges they would like their scores to be sent.
  • Students can bring an SAT approved calculator to the test administration.  There is a desmos graphing calculator embedded in the platform. (Calculator information linked here.)
  •  Students should be able to see their scores from the state administration in their SAT college board account approximately 2 weeks from the test date.
  • Please check the College Board website for specific questions:

Darby Panthers made us proud last week.
Congratulations go out to the girls basketball team on their strong performance in tournament play.
They beat Licking Heights in round one and lost to an amazing Olentangy team in overtime 63-60 on
Saturday.  We also want to thank Darby Basketball Ball Cheer for a great year. They finished up their regular
season last Friday at home.

This weekend, Maddie Davidson swam the 100 Breast at the State Meet.  On Friday, she swam a
time of 1:06.39 to finish 16th and qualify for finals on Saturday.  Maddie did not swim her best race
and used that motivation to swim an incredible race on Saturday in the B final!  She swam a
1:04.75…a new personal best and finished second in her heat by .06 seconds.  Her time was actually
faster than 1 swimmer in the Championship Heat!!!  Congrats to Maddie on a great weekend!!!

This weekend Alexis Peltcs competed in 2 events at the State Swim Meet and had truly incredible
results!  On Saturday as the 2nd seed in the 200 IM, Alexis found herself in about 6th position half
way through the race.  But on the strength of her Breaststroke and Freestyle, she surged to 2nd place
in the race!!  Her time of 2:04.18 is a personal best for her.  In the 100 Breaststroke, Alexis held the
lead the entire way as the 3rd seed and never looked back to become Hilliard Darby’s first Individual
State Champion with a time of 1:02.73!!!  Congrats to Alexis on an incredible weekend!!
