Class of 2024 – Senior Friendsgiving Lunch
We will be hosting our 2nd annual Senior Friendsgiving Lunch on Tuesday December 5th from 11:30-1:00pm in the fieldhouse.  The lunch will be catered by Der Dutchman.  The cost of the lunch is $20.  We will also have some cool raffle prizes during the lunch!  Our final number of seniors participating needs to be submitted by November 28th.  Tickets must be purchased by 2:30pm TODAY.

We know that we have students that may not be able to afford to attend.  Last year, we had numerous parents that purchased “extra tickets” for those seniors that may not be able to afford it.  We were able to allow over 40 more seniors to attend that would not have been able to.  So, when you go to sign up on Local Level, there will also be a button that you can choose to “donate a ticket(s)”.  We would greatly appreciate any support you may be able to give.  Last year we had over 130 seniors attend and this year we are hoping to have this number at least doubled.

Ohio State Tests (OSTs) Retakes
The window for OST end-of-course exam retakes is Monday, November 27th – Friday, December 8th. The only students participating in these exams are select groups of sophomores, juniors, and seniors.  Seniors participating in these exams were notified through an individual conference with their school counselor and parents will receive this same information in the mail.  The select group of sophomores and juniors includes any student that needs to retake an exam in order to earn a competency score and/or seal to meet Ohio’s graduation requirements. These sophomores and juniors will be notified through an individualized Canvas message.  Students in these select groups should be prepared to take these exams on the designated day by reporting to the Media Center at 7:40 a.m. with a fully-charged iPad that has the Secure Test app downloaded from Self-Service. Reach out to your student’s school counselor or Mr. Anderson, Assistant Principal, with any questions.

Tickets must be purchased by 2:30pm on Tuesday November 28tht.

Panther Corner Food Pantry
I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the season of giving, I am reaching out to share an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact in our school community. Darby High School is dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for all students and their families, and we believe that no one should go without the basic necessities.

We are launching a special campaign to enhance our school’s food and clothing pantry, which directly serves students and families facing economic challenges. Many of our school community members are struggling, and your support can make a significant difference in their lives.

By contributing to our pantry, you can help ensure that every student has access to nutritious meals and warm clothing. Your donation will not only provide immediate relief but also contribute to creating a more inclusive and caring community for everyone.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  1. Monetary Donations: Financial contributions will be used to purchase essential items for the pantry, such as non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and warm clothing.
  2. In-Kind Donations: We also welcome donations of non-perishable food items, gently used clothing, and other essential items. Please see the list of needed items below.  You can drop items off in our main office anytime during the school day.

To make a monetary donation, please CLICK HERE. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to creating a community where everyone has the support they need.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to give back to our community. Your generosity will resonate far beyond the holiday season, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of our students and their families.
