Keycards:  If you drive to school and have a late in, double lunch block, or ILC at any time during the day, please see Mrs. Kaufman in the Main Office to pick up your keycard.  We still have quite a few of them.

 

Also, even if you don’t drive to the ILC/HUB, you will need a card to get in to those buildings.

 

 

THE 2017-2018 YEARBOOK HAS ARRIVED!

 

We are excited to announce that the 2017-2018 yearbook is here!

 

Current Bradley Students:  Distribution days will be September 4, 5, 6 (Tuesday – Thursday).  Please pick up your book at the yearbook tables in the commons during your lunch period.

 

Bradley Graduates:  Your books will be available for pickup in the school’s main office beginning on Tuesday, September 4.  Another person may pick up your book for you, but he/she must sign for it.

 

Tolles Students:  Your books will be available for pickup in the school’s main office beginning on Tuesday, September 4.  Another person may pick up your book for you, but he/she must sign for it.

 

Did you forget to order last year’s yearbook?

Have no worries!  If you forgot to order your 2017-2018 yearbook, just get on our waitlist.  We typically have extra yearbooks, and we would be happy to reserve one for you.  Just go to the yearbook website at http://is.gd/hbyearbook to get on the wait list.

 

Not sure if you ordered last year’s yearbook?

Just check the list that is linked on the yearbook website!  If your name is on the list, you ordered a 2017-2018 yearbook, and you will be able to pick it up during distribution days this fall (likely in mid- to late September).  If your name is not on the list, get on the waitlist now by going to the yearbook website.

Hey, Jaguars! Are you interested in attending the first ever Bradley Leadership Retreat?!

 

When: Saturday, November 17th – Sunday, November 18th

Where: YMCA Camp Willson in Bellefontaine, Ohio

Why: To learn how to build upon your leadership skills – Confidence, Creativity, Courage, Communication, Collaboration

If you are driving to school, you will need to purchase a parking tag.  $36, $18 for Blue Renaissance cardholders, Free for White Renaissance cardholders.

Student Panel for Intramural Sports

 

Are you interested in intramural sports? Mr. Gmerek is looking for a panel of 10 students for intramural sports. The role of these students would be to help determine what sports to offer, create rules and guidelines for the sports, and to help promote and recruit students for intramural sports. If you are interested in joining this committee, please stop by room B252 and see Mr. Gmerek!

 

CLUBS

Interact Club Meeting: Thursday, September 6, at 2:45 PM, in C285.  This is a service club that participates in activities that benefit our schools, community and world.  Come to our first meeting to learn more about the club and pick up a membership form (also available at B271).

Women’s Advocacy Club will meet tomorrow, THURSDAY 9/6, after school in Room C284.

Do you enjoy trying different types of arts and crafts? Then DAB (Design Advisory Board) club is for you!

Please join us for our first meeting in SC240, at 2:45, on September 7th.

We will be decorating our jaguar for Homecoming!

Key Club’s first meeting is Monday, September 10, after school in Rm. C285.  Join this new club and learn about all the projects to help our community and world!  See Mrs. Buergel for more info.

 

Attention FUTURE MEDICALS CLUB! Our first meeting of the year is on MONDAY, September 10, right after school in C285! This will be a brief informational meeting about our club.  Can’t make it? Jags Of Clay

Attention any student interested in joining Bradley’s Clay Club.  All are welcome and you don’t need to be in a ceramics class to join.  Learn about clay and throwing on the wheel and make some new friends.  We will have our first meeting on September 10, after school, in room C105.  Hope to see many of you there.

 

French Club will meet on Tuesday, September 11, from 2:45-3:30pm, in A236. We will be working on our jaguar for Bradley’s 10-year anniversary display. See Madame Lawrence or Monsieur Howard with questions.

Diversity Club will be coming back, and it will be joint this year between Memorial and Bradley.

All Bradley students that are interested please listen carefully.

The club will be meet at Memorial Middle School in Mrs. Thompson’s room, so you will have to walk across the parking lot.

> First meeting is next Thursday the 13th! If you play a sport, ask your coach if you can be excused for a few minutes to get the info! If it’s study tables come to club instead (get coaches approval)

> There are meeting flyers outside her room with the 1st quarter dates as well so grab one.  Come join.

 

The Future Business Leaders of America will be meeting on Thursday, September 13, in room PA134.  The Bradley chapter of FBLA promotes leadership, community service and practical business knowledge while preparing for the state leadership conference that will be held in March 2019.  For more information, contact Mrs. West-McLinn at Jayne_west-mclinn@hboe.org.  FBLA will plan to meet the second Thursday of each month.

 

Chinese Club / Panda Club will have its first meeting of the year on Friday, September 14, In Room A227.

We will be selecting our representatives and activities for the year. Come have your voice heard!

 

GUIDANCE OFFICE:

 

Attention College Bound Juniors & Sophomores: The PSAT test will be given on Wednesday, October 10, from 7:40 – 11:00.  This is a great opportunity for you to practice for the SAT, and provides an opportunity to qualify for National Merit Scholarship competition.   Registration is open September 10 through October 5.  The cost is $22.  Register and pay through MyPaymentsPlus. Or you can sign up with Mrs. Barie in the Guidance Office with cash or check written out to Hilliard City Schools.

 

The Miami University Bridges Program is open for applications.  The overnight experience is for high–achieving seniors from historically underrepresented populations.  There are four separate sessions to pick from in October and November.  Specific details and application can be found at MiamiOH.edu/Bridges.  

Participants that enroll for fall 2019 will be eligible to receive the Bridges Program renewable scholarship.  Deadline to apply is September 24, 2018.

 

In the fall, representatives from various colleges and universities come to Bradley to share information with juniors and seniors.  If you are interested, please sign up through Naviance.  You will receive a pass the morning of the visit to attend.  Limit of 5 visits with deadline of one day in advance to register.  Check this list on Naviance for frequent updates.

ATHLETICS

 

Thursday, September 6

 

Girls Tennis – The JV and Varsity Girls Tennis teams will travel to Hilliard Darby.  Matches are scheduled to begin at 4:00.

 

Girls Golf – The Varsity Girls Golf team will travel to Westchester Golf Course for a match.

 

Football – The Freshman Football team will host Hilliard Davidson.  Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00.

 

Boys Soccer – The Boys Soccer teams will host Upper Arlington.  JV will begin at 5:30, followed by the Varsity at 7:15.

 

Girls Volleyball – The Girls Volleyball teams will travel to Dublin Scioto.  Freshman and JV are scheduled to begin at 5:30, followed by the Varsity at 7:00.

 

 

Announcements

 

Any girl 9-12, not playing a fall sport and is interested in playing girls basketball this winter should attend a meeting after school in room C283, Thursday, Sept. 6.  Meeting will take about 20 minutes.  If you cannot attend the meeting, I am in room C283 during 5th, 6th, and 7th period and you can stop and see me.

 

Football – Tickets for the Bradley vs Davidson Football game this Friday at Davidson are on sale in the athletic office today until 5:00 and tomorrow until 1:00.  Get your presale tickets today to avoid long lines at the gates!  Go Jags!
