Good Afternoon Jaguar Parents,

Please join us tonight for our Military Recognition Night, during the varsity boys’ basketball game against Cross District Rivalry Hilliard Davidson HS. Both schools will be uniting to celebrate our Military Recognition Night during the varsity game.

Next weekend, the Hilliard Bradley Theater presents The Play That Goes Wrong; the show will run from February 3rd through February 5th. Performances on Friday and Saturday are at 7pm, and Sunday’s performance is at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased through Local Level. The link is on our website atwww.bradleytheater.com

As we get closer to the scheduling window for the 2023-2024 school year, please make sure to view our course of studies located on the Hilliard Bradley homepage under the school counselor tab.

Finally, we will hold virtual and in person parent teacher conferences on February 15th from 2:45pm -7:00pm. The signup window will open next Wednesday at noon. Military Appreciation Night- Basketball Game – Friday, January 27, 2023

We will be offering the Chuck a Duck 50/50 Raffle that evening with funds to be donated to a Military Cause, and hope that our Hilliard Community will come out to support this fundraising opportunity.

We are in need of a Spirit Night Coordinator.  This person would be vital in helping PTO continue to raise the funds needed to support the Bradley High School community.  The responsibilities would include calling local restaurants and setting up dates for Spirit Nights.  You then would need to communicate the information to the PTO.  This could be at the PTO meetings or over email.

Heritage Student First in Columbus Oratorical Competition 

Congratulations to 7th-grader Lauren Sutch for placing first in the City of Columbus Oratorical Competition in December.  She was invited to be a speaker at the City MLK Breakfast at the Convention Center earlier this month. She will also be representing the city at the state competition in April and, if successful, continuing to the national competition in DC this summer.   We wish her all the best moving forward.

 High school students sought for City Rec and Parks Commission 

Hilliard City Council is accepting applications for up to three Hilliard high school students to serve on the Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee, which provides recommendations and advice on a variety of topics.

Generally, topics the committee has been reviewing have included development of existing parkland; recreational facilities; trails and bikeways; health, wellness, and recreational programming and policy; and updates to strategic plans. Major topics under review include the future Wellness and Recreation Center and its associated athletic fields and other park amenities.

In addition to representatives of Hilliard City Council and Hilliard City School District, the committee includes residents and up to three students from Hilliard’s three high schools.   To apply for one of these vacant high school student positions on the Recreation and Parks Committee, send a letter of interest and a resume by March 1, 2023, to Diane Werbrich at councilclerk1@hilliardohio.gov

Next week will be our first spirit week of the 2023 school year. The week will conclude with a Cross District Rivalry Basketball Game vs. Hilliard Davidson HS, Friday, January 27, 2023, at Bradley High School.  Both schools will be uniting to celebrate our Military Recognition Night during the varsity game.

Next Wednesday, we will be having our Electives Fair.  The fair will be held during lunches (periods 4-6).  As we approach scheduling, this is an opportunity to highlight electives to our students. Students will be able to freely walk around to each table, gather information and ask questions.

Freshman, Sophomore and Junior scheduling meetings will begin in two weeks. Please begin to talk to your students about their class choices to make sure they are making the best decisions about the classes they are scheduling. During the next few weeks, take the time to review the 2023-2024 course of studies to assist you and your student as you begin to plan for next school year.

 Popular Annual Financial Report

The quantity and quality of learning programs are related to the funding provided and the effective, efficient management of those funds. Fun-filled Social Evening Supports Innovation in Hilliard City Schools

Join the Hilliard Education Foundation for the fifth annual Denim and Diamonds event supporting innovative learning experiences for Hilliard City Schools students! This casual yet classy event, attended by more than 200 community leaders and supporters, includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, bourbon and wine pulls, DJ, a photo booth, a cash bar and much more. Proceeds benefit the classroom learning grant program.

Next Monday, Bradley High School will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

On Tuesday, January 17, Beth Weinstock of Birdie Light will talk to all of our 10^thand 11^th grade students about the dangers of fentanyl. Ms. Weinstock lost her son to an unintentional fentanyl overdose in 2021. Her presentation will focus on prevention and awareness of this dangerous drug.

Parent Voice in Health and Math Curriculum

The Hilliard City School District’s Curriculum Department is in the midst of a multi-year curriculum revision cycle for several content areas. An important part of this process is seeking input from our parents on what is important to them in each content area. The district is seeking input on two content areas, Health and Wellness and Math.  You can read the Health and Wellness course of study by clicking here. If you are interested in providing feedback in regard to your child’s Math curriculum, please click this link and respond to a brief, two-question survey.

Parent/Guardian Book Selection Exemption Form

If you wish to request that a book or resource, not be checked out to your student from their Innovation & Discovery/Media Center, you must complete an exemption form.  You can access more information and the form by clicking here.  Each submitted form will accept up to 10 book titles/author’s names.   This exemption form is for the current school year, and will need to be filled out each year.

Good Afternoon Jaguar Parents,

Our first week back from break went well. Freshman, Sophomore and Junior scheduling meetings will begin at the beginning of February. Please talk to your students about their class choices to make sure they are making the best decisions when scheduling their classes. As we begin to build Bradley’s schedule for the 2023-2024 school year, it is important that our students make informed scheduling decisions.

Grade cards will be available January 10th. Please review your child’s grades and discuss strengths and areas of improvement in order to set goals for the third quarter. Take time to celebrate your child’s successes and continue to work with his/her respective teachers to achieve any improvement that needs to take place. This is also a good time to re-emphasize your expectations for your child for the remainder of the school year.

Finally, congratulations to Tiffany Thomas who was named the OCTELA Outstanding Language Arts Educator in the high school category. We are lucky to have Ms. Thomas as a member of our staff and we look forward to her continued success.

Hello Bradley families! Did you know that PTO offers a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior?  Did you know we also support families in need as well as have a hardship budget for times when teachers need special items. In the past, we have helped a class cook a Thanksgiving dinner to enjoy together.  We have also supported students who need one class to graduate through the Keystone credit program.  We provided cookies for the Celebration of Excellence and for each Senior in the spring!!  However, we are struggling to fundraise the needed money to keep these things going!  There are 2 simple things you can do to help…and it costs you nothing!

First you can link your Kroger Plus card to the Hilliard Bradley PTO. Second if you shop using Amazon, you can link your account through the Amazon Smiles Rewards Program.  Go to the bottom of the PTO website for directions.  These are two simple ways to help us get the funds we need to continue to support these (and other) needs in our Bradley community!

We will be selling spirit t-shirts at some of the home basketball games.  We have an order form ready so pre-orders can be made.

In order for athletes to participate, all of the following must take place. 

**Physicals must be updated prior to participation.  Upload two forms from the physical — Physical Exam Form and Medical Eligibility Form — to the parent’s Final Forms account (paper physicals will not be accepted).  **Both athlete and a parent/guardian must sign all forms in Final Forms.  **Participation Fees must be paid prior to the first competition through your MyPaymentsPlus account (check or cash will not be accepted).  All athletes, including free or reduced lunch, must complete the payment process through MyPaymentsPlus.  Free or reduced lunch must check out through MyPaymentsPlus by paying half (reduced lunch) or $0 (free lunch) payment.  Fees must be paid prior to the first competition.

ATHLETES MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITIVE SEASON UNTIL ALL OF THE ABOVE IS COMPLETED.
