IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The below information was sent to our students last week.  We recognize that everyone is stressed and anxious as we continue to deal with COVID.  There will be some changes made in the classrooms.  We want to make sure that we are taking care of each other!

Dear Students:

Over the past few days, our teachers have come together to make some adjustments in the classroom.  We recognize that you and our entire Bradley family is struggling with staying positive due to COVID restrictions.  As a school district, there are growing concerns with your mental health.  Stress and anxiety are at an all-time high with all of us!  There are many things that we can’t control during this time.  One thing we can control is to focus more time talking in our classrooms and discussing how we all are doing.  There will be days where these conversations will take precedence over assignments and tests.  We need to recognize the importance of staying positive and taking care of each other.

This does NOT mean the work will stop.  This means that you will notice less stress.  You will notice teachers taking a breath and just talking with you and enjoying being together.  For this to work, we need your help.  When it is time to work here at school and on your ‘at home’ day, we need you to give 100%.  When it is time to relax and just talk, we need you to participate.

We know we are dealing with unprecedented times as we all battle this pandemic.  We need to take care of each other.  We will get through this together…we are a family!

GO JAGS!!

YOUR CHILD’S ‘AT-HOME’ SCHEDULE

It is imperative that you look at HOME ACCESS regularly to check your child’s grades.  Some students are still struggling with being self-driven to complete assignments on their ‘at home’ work day.  We believe it is important to establish and maintain a schedule similar to the school day on your child’s at-home work day.  We encourage students who are not in the building to log into canvas courses in the morning to be proactive with any questions they may have regarding remote day assignments.  This practice not only helps promote a consistent routine for learning but also provides an opportunity for support from our teachers during work hours.  Teachers are at Bradley High School from 7:20 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. daily. Email and canvas messages are checked regularly before and after school as well as during teachers’ planning periods.  Emails or messages outside of the traditional school day may be answered the following day.

Staying in Hybrid

The District will continue in the Hybrid Learning Mode for the next week.  We will continue to monitor case counts, and community spread and keep our families updated.

Understanding College Saving Opportunities for Elementary Parents

Hilliard City Schools’ College Counselor Tom Woodford will host a meeting for elementary school families with information about saving for college.  It is not too early to start saving for college and we want to share some options that are available.   The event will take place on November 17.  You can register for the webinar here.

Community Needs Assessment

The Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board of Franklin County is conducting a community needs assessment. The assessment asks people in Franklin County what their greatest needs are around mental health and addiction services; and if they have been able to find the services they need or not; and if they are happy with the services they have received, if any. The results of the Community Needs Assessment will help ADAMH understand the most important services needed and identify service gaps.

If you live in Franklin County you can complete the survey online in English, Napoli, Somali, or Spanish.

If you have any questions or experience any technical issues with the survey, please call Measurement Resources Company at 614-947-8899, or send an email to epafford@measurementresourcesco.com.

This survey is not being conducted by the Hilliard City School District.
