Among many things, Squad Leaders must show dedication to the program and commitment to making our program strong, community focused, and service oriented. Squad Leader points can be earned once a marching band season has concluded. Those interested in becoming a squad leader for the following season are required to earn 35 points by taking part in any of the following:

- Pep Band participation (7 points per game)
- Jazz Band Participation (5 points 2 days a week; 10 points 3-5 days a week)
- Perform a Solo at OMEA Solo & Ensemble (10 points)
- Perform an Ensemble at OMEA Solo & Ensemble (5 points)
- Participation in an outside performing group on a band instrument (5 points per year)
- Private Lessons on your band instrument (10 points)
- Band Volunteering Opportunities i.e. uniform fittings, 5K work, WMS Solo & Ensemble assistance (points TBA)
