Attention any Weaver MS young lady interested in trying out for Girls Basketball this winter. Tryout dates and times have been set. Weaver will carry a 7th grade team, 8th grade team, and a FLEX team (combined 7th & 8th grade girls) this winter. Please see below for tryout information:
FRIDAY OCT. 30th– Both gyms will be utilized for tryouts
**7th grade GBK- 3-4:30
**8th grade GBK- 4:00-5:30
SATURDAY OCT. 31st– Both gyms will be utilized for tryouts
**7th grade GBK- 8-9:30
**8th grade GBK- 9:00-10:30
Parents, please click on the ‘PARENTS’ tab on the athletics web page and make sure you have completed the FinalForms information and also choosing Girls Basketball as your sport for the winter. Please remember all athletes trying out must have a valid OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) athletic physical on file in the athletic office. Athletes may turn in physicals to coach on tryout date or physicals can be turned into the athletic office at Davidson HS. There is a copy of the 2020-21 OHSAA physical on the ‘PARENTS’ tab mentioned above. Practice schedules are still being worked out for all winter teams based on current COVID guidelines and what we have to follow in terms of keeping our athletes and coaches safe. Once teams are selected coaches will get each team a practice schedule.
Arrival for tryouts: Locker rooms are still not permitted to be used. That has been our normal state all fall, no locker rooms for any sports. If a student is in school on Friday Oct. 30th, they will be permitted to change in a restroom or a locker room, following the necessary number guidelines. Locker rooms will not be allowed more than 5 athletes at a time in to change and immediately come back out. No storage in locker rooms at all for any bags, etc. Coaches will help coordinate changing locations and locker room access. 8th grade players are coming back for the later time, please report to the commons area, waiting for coaches to complete COVID symptom check and then allow entry into gym. Anyone arriving for tryouts from home must be dressed and ready to go, no changing. All athletes arriving must come in the Athletic Entrance Doors straight across from the tennis courts. All athletes will exit out the doors nearest the Aux. Gym or football field. This is our 1 way entrance and exit path to prevent crossing over of teams.
