Hoffman Trails Elementary was proud to host Congressman Steve Stivers in the fourth grade classes. The Congressman explained the process of how a bill becomes a law. He walked the students through the entire process, using student ideas of a change that they would like to see occur in the world around them. Ultimately, the students chose the idea of banning cigarettes. In the end, the House and Senate (our fourth grade students) voted the bill into law.
Authentic learning opportunities give our students a look into how the real world is governed and prepares them to be Ready for Tomorrow.
