Check out how Mrs. Murlin’s 8th Grade art classes are using iPads in class. They use iMotion for stop motion claymation videos, iMovie for live video editing, and Google Apps for collaboration projects. They also created QR Codes to post around the school so other students could scan them and watch their videos!
Mrs. Kitchen’s Creative Media course at Weaver Middle School uses a variety of apps on the iPad to create videos and work collaboratively. They are using GarageBand to create songs, the Camera app to shoot video, iMovie to edit video, and PollEverywhere to respond to questions in the classroom.
Mr. Morris’ science classes are using the Noteability app on iPads to work on their science concepts. Students can import teacher notes, presentations and documents into Noteability. Then they can notate on top of the documents and save their work. They can even turn this work back into Mr. Morris if it is an assignment.
Mrs. Frazier is using iPads in her first grade classroom daily as another tool for her student’s learning. They use a variety of apps and websites to support their learning such as Educreation, Pixie and Kidblog. They frequently use it for writing and math workshops.
Brent Bower has been using his iPad to help students in Algebra for the past couple of years. Using Educreations, he records problem-solving techniques and sends them to the students to refer to later when they are trying to do their homework.
For the next several weeks, I will be posting some videos of teachers in Hilliard who are already using iPads in unique and innovative ways.
