About the Preschool
Children participate in a daily circle time, which includes calendar activities, name recognition, basic skills such as colors, shape, counting, and songs. Small group activities include playtime in a variety of settings such as blocks and puzzles, daybooks, kitchen, dramatic play, water/sand table, workbench, art activities or dress-up. These play activities provide ample time to increase social skills and practice appropriate interactions. A daily snack time provides opportunities to practice self-help skills and social language skills.
Different themes are used throughout the year to teach a variety of developmental skills needed for the school environment. Literature, songs, art activities, sensory and movement activities are incorporated into the theme.
