We need your help!  Concession sign ups are now available.  We would like to get these all covered ASAP so we are not pushing to get them covered last minute.  We strongly encourage each family to cover 1 or 2 shifts and then we will be there!  PLEASE click below and see what time works for you.  No experience necessary!

Also, there will be a cleaning party in the concessions area this Saturday beginning at 9:00am.  Please consider coming out to help!

New Remind Sign up!

We use the Remind App quite often for communication during marching band. Due to some changes with Remind, we have had to set up new Remind accounts.  Students and parents are encouraged to sign up to receive these notifications via text.  Please text the appropriate code for your graduation class to 81010. To clarify, these are all for marching band, concert band classes will set up once school starts.

Help Needed!

Tag Day

Tag is by far our largest one day fundraiser.  They money earned helps to support the students in countless ways.  To make it happen we need about 50 drivers!  Please sign up today to help out.  Please make sure you have a current volunteer badge though the district.  You can find that on the school website. Please click below to sign up to help out!

Pictures!

We will have our full group pictures on Wednesday next week during the day.  Please make sure your child brings everything they need for their uniform.  That includes long black socks and their band shoes. Also, please bring raincoats and band bags if they have them.

We will have individual pictures on Saturday, August 10thfrom 9-12.  We break it up by class so we don’t have everyone come at once.  If you cannot come at your child’s designated time, feel free to come when you can.  The suggested class breakdown times are:

9:00-9:45 – Freshmen

9:45-10:30 – Sophomores

10:30-11:15 – Juniors

11:15-12:00 – Seniors

Ice Cream Social

We are so excited about the upcoming Ice Cream Social!  It will be on Friday, August 16th and will begin in the commons at Davidson. We will be performing our show for the first time.  In addition, we will be going outside to march and play a portion of the show.  For the first time in my 10 years here, we will be doing that in the big stadium!!  We are so excited and certainly hope you will join us!

The cost for a generous portion of Ice Cream is $3.00 and that includes up to 4 topping.  Band students will eat for free at the conclusion of the evening.

6:00 – Begin serving Ice Cream.

6:30 – Band Plays and we give out awards

7:30 – Perform our show in the Stadium

We are once again partnering with local apparel distributer Ares Sportswear to launch our 2019 Spirit Wear Apparel Sale.  Below, you will find a link to our online store, a highly efficient and user-friendly “Fanstand” custom designed and managed for our needs!!  New this year are 2 adhesive stickers, one 3” and one 5” option.  We are once again offering a variety of gear specifically designed for parents and grandparents, along with a great selection featuring the new design for this school year.

Ordering Process and Instructions:

  • All orders and payments are to be made online.  In exceptional situations, you are able to call or email Ares directly and place an order. **Please note: the band directors will not be collecting money for this sale at any time.
  • Almost all items are customizable for a flat charge of $7.  Please sensor what you choose to put on your garments as you are representing our program while sporting this apparel.
  • All items are sorted and bagged by Ares for our ease of distribution, which will take place during the first days of school in the 4 concert bands.  However,it is vital that all orders be marked correctly at checkout.  Please make sure you select the section of the student associated with the order AS WELL AS listing the STUDENT’S name as the “Player” upon checkout.  Again, we only want to have student names in the field asking for a “Player”.

Here are just a few other tid-bits about the sale:

  • The online store closes at midnight on Sunday, August 11th.
  • Proceeds of this sale help support the Handshue Private Lesson Scholarship.
  • Anyone can order from any city or state, so please share the store link with family and friends!
  • **This is the only time throughout the school year when you will be able to purchase our spirit wear, so we encourage you to think about gift ideas, Christmas and holiday shopping, as well as cold-weather gear when you check out our store offerings.**

Communication

Please make sure to continue informing us of any and all rehearsal absences.  As always, send that information to Mr. Shultz at luke_shultz@hboe.org  Remember that whenever possible please give advance notice so that we can plan accordingly.

We also have our remind 101 accounts set up.  This is a great way for us to send you quick reminders about report times and other various things.  It is not a good way for you to reach us as we do not usually receive messages back.  Email is definitely the best way to contact one of the directors.
