The 8th grade boys’ basketball team defeated Jackson last night 47-27 to improve to 3-0 on the year. The Jags are back in action at home tomorrow night against Finland. Come on out and cheer on the Jags!
The 7th grade girls’ basketball team improved their record to 3-0 last night with a 40-19 win at Jackson MS. Hailey Parsell had 13 points and Leigha Dennison added 10 for the Lady Jags.
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team fell to 2-1 on the season with a hard fought loss to Jackson, 38-34. Kenna McClelland led the Jags in scoring with 16 points. Mackenzie Maynard and Emma Brooks both chipped in 6 points.
Reminder that the door judging will be Friday, December 8 after school. Doorsshould be decorated on the outside as they will be judged with doors closed. Winning door from the first period class will receive donuts!
Support the Firefighters 4 Kids Toy Drive by bringing in a new unwrapped toy forchildren in need. Collection boxes will be in your Language Arts classroom. Also, you can bring the toy to the Holiday Festival Dec. 11. Show Memorial Cares.
The MMS online fundraiser will be open and available on the MMS website through this Friday, December 8. You can help support our recognition programs by purchasing or renewing magazines, new logo tumblers and snacks. Please consider helping our school by purchasing from this fundraiser. No students are being asked to sell or take orders.
Diversity Club members: We are having our night in this Friday. It will be after school until 7:30pm. We will be decorating the school with holidays around the world, eating some pizza, and watching a movie. Please make sure your ride is here by 7:30pm. If you have questions see Mrs. Thompson
Our Spanish Club will be meeting TODAY after school. Plan on being picked up at4:00. We will learn about Christmas traditions in Spanish speaking countries.
Any student who is participating or wants to participate in the Hilliard Optimistspeaking contest…please meet Mrs. Brown during 4th period lunch in her room 35 every day this week through Friday.
Attention Math Club Members – Mrs. Weibel will meet you in Room 15 right after school for our Math Club meet! See you then!
Our next MMS PTO fundraiser night will be a Burger Bash TONIGHT, December 6, at the Wendy’s on Rome-Hilliard Road. From 5-8 pm Wendy’s will donate 25% of all sales to the MMS PTO. There is no need to present a flyer or mention PTO, just go to Wendy’s that night. Please support the PTO and go to Wendy’s on Wednesday.
Our Lost and Found is overflowing. Please check for any items you may have lost. Anything left in the Lost and Found will be donated to charity over the December Holidays.
Just a reminder that hallways here at MMS are always Red Zones during the school day. For safety reasons, iPads, cell phones, earbuds, headphones, etc. are not be used while walking in the halls.
Students being dropped off prior to the start of school will need to wait in either the Main Office lobby or M Lobby until 7:50 am. Once the bell rings at 7:50 am students can proceed to 1st period class.
If you are in need of a schedule change, have an iPad issue, or need something from the office, please make sure that you check in with your teacher before leaving the room. Please do not try to stop by to do this in between classes without checking in with your next period teacher.
Breakfast is available at MMS before school every day. Breakfast is set up in PrideHallway, between the two gyms and works using the same payment system as lunch. Items are available on a “grab and go” basis and taken to 1st period class, as long as students make it to 1st period by 8:00 am. Students can come and pick up breakfast as soon as they get off the bus and can use the entrance doors in Pride Hallway from the playground area.
If you have a note to ride a different bus home, please turn it in to the main office by 8:00 in the morning, no later!!
If you have forgotten your iPad or your parent is dropping off money for any reason, please come down and check in the office between class periods. We will not be interrupting class to call students down to pick up these items. Also, if you are expecting something to be dropped off, please come and check the office if you are not called down.
