MMS Winter Sports 2017-18 Information

The M.S. and H.S. WINTER SPORTS Parent meeting is scheduled at BRADLEY H.S. for Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 at 7:30 . This meeting, and/or the OHSAA video and PowerPoint, are part of the mandatory requirements for participation in Athletics.
***WINTER SPORTS PICTURES are scheduled for Tuesday (11/21/17) . Coaches will have more information soon.

Cheerleading: Wednesday, Nov. 1st– Friday, Nov. 3rd, 2017.
7th grade and 8th grade (including Competition)- 3:00-5pm – Meet in the Aux Gym (tryouts).
Clinics/evaluations will be held during these three days. Athletes should come dressed in black shorts, tennis shoes and white t-shirts for practices. School appropriate attire is expected. Have your rides pick you up in the main parking lot immediately after tryouts near M-Lobby and Pride Hallway.
TRYOUTS: Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. 3pm-5pm. (Auxiliary Gym)

Extra days are not permitted if the athlete may be absent. Teams will be determined by Wednesday, Nov. 1st.

Regular Season Practices start on MONDAY, NOV. 6th, 2017.
Wrestling Preview-Rules review with official, Mon, Nov. 20th, 2017 at 5pm (MMS-Main Gym)
No tryouts AND no experience necessary. Meet the coaches in the cafeteria, immediately after school. Athletes should wear a t-shirt, shorts and athletic/running shoes in order to run/warm up. All wrestlers are expected to bring wrestling shoes. Headgear and singlets will be supplied, but personal headgear is acceptable. The athlete will participate/compete if they attend all practices.

*All athletes should find the “sign-up sheet” for their respective sport in the cafeteria, during the week before tryouts.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL FORMS & PHYSICALS
Please make sure that you and/or your parents go into Home Access and update the “Additional Information” section. Your emergency medical forms will be printed and passed onto the coaches. Forms and instructions can be found on the General Info page of the Athletics Tab.
IF YOU DO NOT SIGN ALL FORMS, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PRACTICE. YOU WILL HAVE TO SIT AND WATCH PRACTICE ON THAT DAY!! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO FILL OUT ALL FORMS. THE SIGN-UP SHEETS WILL HELP US DETERMINE WHICH ATHLETES HAVE CURRENT PHYSICALS.
Physicals must be obtained before tryouts. All physicals must be on file prior to the first day of tryouts, OR YOU WILL NOT TRYOUT. If you participated in a fall sport, your physical is on file with the athletic office. PHYSICALS ARE GOOD FOR ONE CALENDAR YEAR. Cheerleaders and Basketball players must have their physicals on file no later than October 30th, 2017. Wrestlers must have their physicals on file no later than November 6th, 2017.
Participation Fees are $80. You may go online and pay the participation fee once you have made the cheer and basketball teams. You must also check and acknowledge the risk form, travel form, concussion form, and the student/athlete handbook. Wrestling may go online and pay at any time, since there are no tryouts.
ALL ATHLETES ARE EXPECTED TO PAY. ALL FEES MUST BE PAID BY NOVEMBER 29th, 2017. (Any athletes that did not pay for Fall Sports will not participate in Winter Sports until all fees are paid.) Failure to pay Winter fees (and/or missing fees from Fall sports) by this time will also result in the athlete not participating in games or matches.
