Dear Hoffman Trails Families,
I love getting to work woith our Hoffman Trails students, staff, families, and communities everyday! The energy and excitement about learning that transpires in our building is phenomenal! Our philosophy of education embraces the whole-child and the learning experiences that we provide. We believe that every child can learn given the right support, structure, and environment. Providing a safe environment for your children each day with appropriate challenges and quality work are key elements to our strong school experience. As a school, we are alo committed to 21st century learning. We seek to provide your child with learning experiences that will lead them towards being college and career ready. We identify learning experiences that allow students to to collaborative with others, creative in their thinking, communicate with others and think critically.
For the fourth consecutive year Hilliard City Schools earned the state's top rating of "Excellent with Distinction" on the 2010-11 Ohio Department of Education's (ODE) Local Report Card (LRC). Only 15 school districts in Ohio have earned this same achievement including only four districts in Central Ohio. Of those districts, Hilliard Schools has the lowest cost per pupil. To earn the "Excellent with Distinction" honor, districts must meet at least 94 percent of the indicators or have a PI score of at least 100 and have above expected growth for at least two consecutive years on the valued added calculation.
Not only is Hilliard city Schools and Excellent with Distinction school district, but Hoffman Trails Elementary School is an Excellent with Distinction school! As a school, we meet all eight of our indicators, met all AYP requirements, earned a PI score of 105.8 and facilitated more that a year's worth of academic growth for students over the course of a single school year.
As your principal, I'm exceedingly proud of these accomplishments. I know that the hard work of our students, valuable instruction from our teachers, assistance from staff members and cooperation from our parents is what makes these kinds of results possible. Hoffman Trails is a great place to know and a great place to grow. I'm eager for the great learning opportunities that lie ahead for all us!
