Literacy Collaborative
The Literacy Collaborative is an ongoing, research-based professional development initiative designed to support the classroom teacher in developing his/her understanding of the reading and writing processes by using teaching strategies that support children's literacy learning. Teachers use a comprehensive framework for literacy instruction that includes a wide range of reading and writing contexts and processes. The Literacy Collaborative is the adopted framework for teaching and learning literacy in Hilliard elementary schools.
Media Center
The media center at Hoffman Trails Elementary is a flexibly- scheduled, open-access facility. Students visit the media center individually or in small groups to check out books, work at centers, conduct research, create products... you name it, they do it in the media center!
