Fruit and Vegetable Sampling is Back for 2017-18
Once again we will be offering samples of fresh fruits and vegetables to students at your school. The program introduces students to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables in a fun atmosphere. Our goal is to encourage them to try new and healthy foods, and to hopefully make an impact on their future eating habits. Our sampling schedule for this school year is listed below:
Each month teachers will be given fun facts and nutrition information about the featured fruits and vegetables to share with students. In May, we will distribute a survey to get feedback on the impact the program makes with your student.
All students may participate during their normal snack period. We hope your child / children enjoy this opportunity to try new things, and look forward to hearing from you in the spring.
Oct – Blueberries, Celery
Nov – Strawberries, Cucumber
Dec – Grapefruit, Avocado (Guacamole)
Jan – Apples, Cauliflower
Feb – Kiwifruit, Spinach
March – Garbanzo Beans (Hummus), Tomatoes
April – Watermelon, Bell Peppers
