Happy Birthday Today to: Jackson Carter, Abigail Flanery, and Benjamin Lanning.

In the Know: The last meeting for IN THE KNOW will be on Wednesday, May 23, immediately after school in room 221. We will plan for the summer and work out communication plan in order to practice for the fall competition. If you cannot attend the meeting, please email Mr. George or Ms. Moss.

All this week, we will be collecting gift cards for different restaurants and grocery stores to give to the family. If you want to help, please bring any gift card donations you have to Ms. Cooper’s classroom, room 207.

First Generation College Event: Our College Counselor, Mr. Woodford, is hosting a First Generation College Student event. This is a program for any current junior who will be the first person in his or her family to attend college. On Wednesday, June 6, from 9-11 am, at Darby High School, he will have representatives from area colleges who will discuss their programs for First Generation students.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Woodford in the Guidance Office.

Final remarks from our morning announcers:

Mohammed Khan:  Well, Davidson, this is the last announcement you’ll hear from me and Jesse.  The girls will take over starting tomorrow and will continue for the rest of the year.  First of all, we would like to say we are very sorry for butchering people’s names.  We have zero time to practice names before we start.  It’s been real and, thank you, teachers, for letting us take time out of your classes for the announcements.  It’s been a pleasure being one of the voices for Davidson.

Jesse Walz:  (Righteous!)  Absolutely correct!  On behalf of the senior class, we would like to say thank you to all the Davidson teachers and staff for making us grow and prepare for our futures ahead.  We are very lucky as students to have such a great school.  Seniors, good luck with wherever your future takes you, and make the best of it and do what you love.  Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, keep working hard and enjoy the rest of your high school career.  Your high school years go by in the blink of an eye, so make it extraordinary.

Davidson, for one last time, make it a great Thursday, and have an excellent summer. “We bid you all a heartfelt goodbye.”  ~ Johnny Carson
