Good Morning, Hilliard Davidson!  Today is Thursday, April 20, 2017, and these are your morning announcements.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

SuperHero Run: Are you a runner? Do you like Bouncy Houses and great music? On April 30, you can enjoy all of that when the Davidson Band hosts the SuperHero 5K Run and Kids’ Dash. The proceeds from the race will help support our band program, as well as help Orphan World Relief, a local non-profit. Prom Tickets: Prom tickets are now on sale at https://www.localevelevents.com/events/details/2820. Juniors and Seniors can purchase tickets for the Prom on April 22. Tickets cost $50 for Davidson Students and $55 for non-Davidson students, and include After Prom tickets. Both the Prom and the After Prom Party will be at the Crowne Plaza of Dublin.

Parent Volunteers: Student Council needs Parent Volunteers to help at the After Prom party this year. Please pass this along to your parents if they can help check in students at After Prom on April 22, from 11:15 pm–2:30 am. Sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050e4faeac2ca31-after

GUIDANCE INFORMATION:

Honors Diplomas: Seniors who qualified for the Honors Diploma and President’s Education Award will find their names listed in their government classes and on the window of the Guidance Office. If you have questions, see your Guidance Counselor.

ASVAB Test: If you are interested in a future with the military, you should take the ASVAB test (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery), a multiple-choice test used by the United States Military to determine qualification for enlistment in the armed forces. We will be offering the ASVAB test here at Davidson on Tuesday, May 16, at 11:30 am. Sign up in the Guidance Office.

New Student Mentors: Are you interested in being a New Student Mentor for next year? You can mentor and help a new student to our school to make their transition to Davidson easy.  We also host the new student breakfast and hold the all-school food drive. Students can pick up applications in the guidance office.  You need to return the completed application to the guidance office no later than Wednesday, April 26.  Please see Mrs. Mongolier or Mrs. Munson if you have any questions.

American Sign Language:  If you are interested in taking the American Sign Language 1 course next year, please go to the Guidance Office and talk to your guidance counselor.

SPORTS:

Boys Volleyball:  On Tuesday night, the boys volleyball teams swept Gahanna.  The freshman team won in two games, led by Graden Cushnie in the middle and Daniel Taylor at the opposite.  The JV team won in three games, led by Hari Khalsa blocking in the middle.  The varsity team won a hard-fought battle to improve their league record to 5-0.  The Cats play at home today, against rival Dublin Coffman.

Girls Golf: Attention, girls: If you are interested in playing golf next season, plan to attend an informational meeting about the Girls Golf program, immediately after school today, Thursday, April 20, in room 247. See Coach Winland or Coach Emery if you have any questions or if you cannot attend the meeting.
