Hilliard City Schools will offer two new enrichment options for students. The Music Enrichment “Kid Composer” is an opportunity for students in fourth and fifth grades to focus on the fundamentals of music composition with the ultimate goal of composing songs. This is a blended model of online and face-to-face. There are two face-to-face meetings scheduled for February 6 and February 13 at 3:45 p.m. at the McVey Innovative Learning Center. The rest of the sessions will be online. This 10-week experience is open to the first 30 registrations. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the MILC. The cost is $50.
The other opportunity is for students in grades four, five and six to learn Chinese. Starting February 3 the classes will be held at the McVey Innovative Learning Center after school. Neal Myers, district Chinese instructor, will lead the group. Transportation will be provided to the McVey Innovative Learning Center via district bussing and the parent will be required to pick up the student at the MILC at 4:45 p.m. Students will attend five sessions, one hour each. Cost is $50. Three to four schools will be attending together and each elementary building is limited to ten spots total.
All registrations and payments for both programs will be made via Mypaymentsplus website. Registration will open Friday, January 24 at noon.
