Technology Due to the workplace becoming increasingly dependent on technology, Career Mentorship students often gain more in-depth knowledge and skill in this area. Mentor sites frequently provide opportunities for students to utilize a variety of technological advancements not available in a regular classroom setting. Examples might include: computer applications specific to a given career, video conferencing, and multimedia productions. Students learn how to communicate effectively using e-mail, fax machines and phone systems among others. Technology is integrated within the Career Mentorship classroom. Students gain extensive practice with research skills using the Internet to access a variety of career resources. In addition, professional portfolios and multimedia presentations are created and shared with mentors and classmates. |
