BENEFITS

  • Student Benefits

    • Students work directly with a Mentorship Coordinator and work site mentors to develop real world skills they will need to become successful leaders in the community.  The students and coordinators work together to develop personalized programs to meet the individual educational needs and interests of each student.

    • If students enjoy the mentorship experience and want to continue pursuing a career in that area, a mentor can help the student move forward towards his/her goals.  Students can begin to develop a professional network to assist with their career.

  • Students will hopefully save money on college courses/training due to a clearer picture of his/her career goals.

  • Students will be better prepared for “life after high school” than other students who have not had such a worthwhile opportunity.  Students will truly experience the “real world”.

  • Business Benefits

    • A major concern  for businesses is that new employees are not prepared for the demands of the workforce.  Many do not have the skills, knowledge or attitudes needed to succeed in today's fast-paced, high-tech business environment.  By equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need, the Career Mentorship Program will prepare students to be successful in today's working world.

  • Community Benefits

    • Career Mentorship prepares students to be the community's future leaders.  The program blends leadership training with team-building skills in both work and classroom environments.  Students strengthen communication skills by sharing their experiences with a variety of community organizations.
