Our Mission
The mission of the Hilliard Davidson High School media center is to promote information literacy and encourage independent reading so that students will become life-long learners. Also, we will provide access to current information in all formats which support the curriculum.
Online Services
The media center subscribes to the various research
services. These
sites are for the exclusive use of Hilliard Davidson High School students
and staff. User names and passwords for home access may be obtained from
a media center staff member.

Procedures and Services
Student ID’s are necessary to check out resources.
Most book materials and audiotapes check out for 30 days, videos and
DVDs have a 10 day loan period, and magazines and reference books may
be checked out overnight. Fines are on a per school day basis as follows:
10 cents for audiotapes, 50 cents for videos, $1.00 for reference, 5
cents for all other materials.
Technology
The Internet, access to other library catalogs and Microsoft office applications
are the primary use of the computers. Students should abide by the
technology policy of the school district which is in the student handbook,
and the media center computer guidelines which are posted above the
circulation desk.

- 40 PC computers
- Ellison Letter Machine — cutting out letters and shapes for bulletin boards and posters
- Televisions, VCR’s and DVD players — viewing and making videos
- Pinnacle Studio video editing software (by appointment)
- Opaque projector — Used for magnifying objects for tracing
- Scanner - Used to copy images to a computer file
- Color printer
- Binding machine
- Photocopy machine
There may be a nominal fee attached to some of the above services
