How are students identified?

Students can be identified as gifted through scores on group ability and achievement tests or through individual referrals. Ohio law refers to “giftedness” as including the following areas:

Cognitive Ability, Reading/Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, Science, Creative Thinking, Visual Arts, and Performing Arts.

How can I get further information about gifted identification or intervention services for gifted students?

The facilitators listed below, by building, assist with identification of and services for gifted students.

Group Testing

Students in grades 2-5 may be referred to participate in small group testing in
September, 2008. The testing will occur during the school day at each school.
