Organizational Model
At Darby Creek Elementary, we offer students in grades two through five the opportunity to participate in a looping experience. Looping is when the teacher works with a class of students for two consecutive years. He or she may be the student’s second grade teacher one year and their third grade teacher the next. They stay in the same classroom and develop a strong sense of community that continues into the second year. Teachers know their students well and students know their teacher and the classroom environment. Relationships are strong and the learning experience is enhanced.
