Darby Painting Student Wins Scholarship Award

Art student with her paintingThe Ohio Watercolor Society is pleased to announce the winner of the Hodnett-Hacker Memorial High School Student Scholarship for $1000 is Jennifer Dorsey a 2017 Graduate of Hilliard Darby High School. Her art teacher, Ms. Valerie Kulick Brown, also received $500 for art supplies for the Hilliard Darby High School art department. Jennifer’s watercolor painting entitled “Succulents” will be featured in the OWS 40th annual juried exhibition. The exhibition will open on June 30, 2017 and run through September 10, 2017. The Ohio Watercolor Society is a non-profit arts organization. This highly competitive juried show annually attracts entries from the entire state of Ohio and areas along its boundaries. The Ohio Watercolor Society was established in 1978 to further the stature of aqueous painting as a major art medium, and to assist in the education of Ohio artists and the public.
