Transportation Frequently Asked Questions
Is transportation provided to/from daycare facilities?
No, the Hilliard City Schools Transportation Department will no longer be providing transportation services to or from daycare facilities. This practice was identified during last spring’s levy as a reduction the District would implement. Many daycare centers provide transportation services, check with your provider.
Should I call the Transportation Office if my child is not going to ride the bus into school one day?
No, you should only call if your student rides a non-public or special needs bus to school. The non-public and special needs bus routes are usually lengthy and in this case a call could save time and fuel. The public school routes travel through neighborhoods and stops are relatively close resulting in little, if any change, when a student does not ride.
What should I do if my child needs to ride a different bus home from school?
The guidelines address this question. A student needs a note signed by a parent and a school building administrator before a student can be let off at a stop other than their assigned bus stop.
My child attends a private or parochial school, how do I located their busing information?
During the school year please contact the student's building.
During the summer, before school starts, the driver of your student's bus will contact you with transportation information. You can also visit, Sunrise Academy, St. Brendan School or Cyrpress Christian School for complete route information.
